We know most people today are in a hurry so we'll make it brief. Yahoo Messenger is the third most popular instant messenger application on the Internet. The Yahoo Messenger smileys are quirky, fun and well designed. Yahoo Messenger followed MSN Messenger's lead and created animated emoticons. Some of Yahoo's animated emoticons like the blah, blah, blah icon definitely amuse.
Did you know Yahoo Messenger has hidden emoticons? You may not because they're hidden. We're not sure why. Take a look at the hidden emoticons if you use Yahoo Messenger. Our favourite is the cheeky 'not listening' free smiley.

Yahoo personalization features
You can see them all here so we just chose the ones we think are worth a mention:
- Radio: listen to dozens of free web radio stations in Yahoo Messenger
- Audibles: animated smileys and characters with cool sound effects
- Yahoo avatars: a full length image of yourself - often 3D (similar to Second Life avatars)
- Display images: an image to represent yourself to friends
- Skins: customize how you want your Yahoo Messenger window to look
- Games: play games by yourself or with friends
If you want a new display image we have a collection of emoticon avatars (same thing as a display image) that you can use with Yahoo Messenger.

Below is a screenshot of the smileys screen in Yahoo Messenger. We should let you know that Yahoo Messenger doesn't allow you to add your own emoticons. Use MSN Messenger for that.
